Fun With Spanish Numbers

In this group of activities, there are two games and one activity. The theme for all three is numbers.

  • A Pescar. This game is essentially Go Fish. You can put the students in pairs or small groups. You will need a deck of cards for each group.

  • Batalla Naval. This game is essentially Battleship. The instructions are on the first page of the game.

  • Creating Numbers. Students will cut the numbers from the bottom of the page and generate numbers from the numbers they cut. They’ll write them down on their paper and exchange it with a partner. Then the partner will write out the number in Spanish. For this activity you will need scissors for the students. Great for students who benefit from manipulatives!

Other Activities

Questions About Dates and Calendars With Dialogicals in Spanish: Here are several activities that have students practice asking questions about birthdays, days of the week, months of the year, etc. The main activity is a dialogical activity, which has a series short dialogues about the theme of dates and calendars. For each short dialogue, students must decide if each question/answer is logical or illogical. If the response answers the question given, it is a logical response. If the response doesn't answer the question, the response is illogical. Students must also explain why it is illogical. Other activities in this product include a warm-up (students ask each other the dates of their birthdays), a short structure section, and a completion of a Venn diagram (where students compare and contrast logical vs illogical questions and answers). It's written in Word so you can edit as necessary. Great for students learning questions/answers and learning to use a calendar.

Listening, Reading and Writing: Numbers for Spanish 1: Here are three activities that encourage students' practice with numbers in Spanish. The first is a DIFFERENTIATED listening activity, where students identify different hours of the day. The second activity is a DIFFERENTIATED reading activity, where students identify emergency telephone numbers and the reasons why these numbers are used. The third is a writing activity, where students write a letter in Spanish to their teacher about themselves. They will include their names, addresses, their telephone numbers and what time school starts. Both the listening and reading tasks are differentiated based on levels of difficulty. Everything's in Word, so you can edit as necessary. Great for Spanish 1!

Military Time and Writing Schedules: Spanish 1: Here are several activities that help students practice military time and writing schedules in Spanish. There's a warm-up, an explanation of military time, two short activities where students will practice military time, an activity where students write their schedules and trade them with a partner to answer questions, and write a paragraph about what they answered. Everything's written in Word, so you can edit as necessary. Great for Spanish 1!

Authentic Listening and Reading Activities: Seasons of the Year in Spanish: Here are 2 AUTHENTIC activities that help students practice reading about and listening to a text about seasons of the year in Spanish.

The listening activity is based on a Doki video, located at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0mPiVqLYQg. It is for young children, which I've found tends to work well for Spanish 1 students. The activity is DIFFERENTIATED, based on level of difficulty.

The reading activity is based on the equinoxes and solstices. The texts are basic images. One image is of equinoxes and solstices. The other is about the different seasons of the year. Both can be found on my website https://gramatichica.wixsite.com/laprofesoragil/el-tiempo. Just scroll down to the "Other Activities" section and look for the two images. This activity is also DIFFERENTIATED, based on level of difficulty. Because the images are not mine, you will need to download these two images and insert them into the texts once you've purchased this activity. The images are free to download, so you won't be charged for them.

Everything's written in Word, so you can edit as necessary. I've found both to be appropriate for Spanish 1.
